NOAA: Women in Science Forum
It is open to anyone who identifies as a woman. You can be bunk mates too!
Let’s all thank the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for ensuring they do their part to encourage women to take a leadership role in the sciences.
Bravo!
As compared to previous years, it shouldn’t be as hard to find female science leaders, now that women make up a majority of the college graduates.
One can find the specific requirements for the leadership workshop here. The deadline to apply is 24 January 2025. It includes classes on emotional intelligence, and unconscious bias, connection, and mentoring. Regardless of the fact that the curriculum has nothing to do with any real science, hopeful participants shouldn’t be deterred. While I understand that most Feds for Freedom members wouldn’t willingly sign up for a class describing one’s actions as unconsciously driven by racist and misogynist decision trees hidden deep in the forest of our insentient lizard brain, they may just need to punch a ticket to get a leg up in the bureaucracy. Right?
Would mandatory DEI training be a surprise to anyone?
We can all hope mandatory DEI training will be stripped from government curriculum, defunded, and thrown into the waste basket of bad ideas once the new administration takes over in January 2025, but until then we must stay vigilant.
Women in science isn’t a controversial topic. Usually…
Except in this case, it includes men pretending to be women. Worse yet, participants will have shared quarters. So, if you are an up and coming female scientist in the NOAA but express reluctance at the thought of sharing quarters with someone with male genitalia, you are disqualified from attending.
Perhaps you are in need of conscious bias training, you TERF!
Feds for Freedom will be forwarding this Substack to interested legislators. We strongly encourage you to do so as well. You can look them up by zip code here.
